St. Valentine

Patron Saint of Lovers & Greetings
Feast Day Celebrated on February 14

Born Circa 200 AD  - - -  Died 269 AD

Probably one of the most famous of all the Saints, St. Valentine is one of the most widely celebrated feast days for lovers, couples, husbands and wives.  There could have been as many as 3 St. Valentines  While often the symbols are of cupids, angels, and hearts, it was actually the pairing and mating of birds halfway through the month that is the reason for the custom of this feast.
