St. Colette

Patron Saint of Loss of Parents

Feast Day Celebrated on March 6

January 13, 1381 ---   March 6, 1447

St. Colette was orphan, her father a carpenter, and her parents were in their 60s when they had her.  At the age of 17 she was left in the care of a Benedictine Abbot.  While her guardian wanted her to marry, she was drawn to a very religious life.  She travelled from convent to convent, often being accused of sorcery, but sometimes gaining followers.
