Venus,
The Goddess of Love was born in Sicily (of course). It
is the most fantastic of all the Mediterranean islands. Once the central
location of the known civilized world, Sicily was always the greatest
treasure that European, African and Persian empires wanted for their very
own. Nearly 3000 years of history are on this island (roughly the size
of New Jersey). There are stone ruins, temples of ancient people,
monastaries, outdoor theatres, ampitheatres and endless vineyards and olive
groves.
"Italy... Sicily... what's the diffrence?" Some will say, but as JW Goethe
once said in his book Journey To Italy:
To have seen Italy without having seen Sicily is to not have seen Italy at
all, for Sicily is the clue to everything"
