Franco Cristaldi

October 3, 1924 - - - July 1, 1992

Born in Turin, Italy, this respected Italian director, producer and writer backed films by most of the neo-realists and other major post-war Italian directors including Visconti; Monicelli; Bellocchio; Rosi; Pontecorvo and of course Fellini. In 1966 he was married to Italian actress Claudia Cardinale. They were later divorced in 1975. Franco Cristaldi died in Monte Carlo in 1992.
