Born in Tunisia to a Sicilian father and a French/Italian mother. Claudia had one sister and two brothers. In 1958 she had a son named Patrick, who came about as a result of Claudia having been a victim of rape/sexual aggrevated assault. Patrick was often was presented as her brother. In 1996 she married famous film director Franco Cristaldi and divorced in 1975. She could speak French, Italian, English, and Spanish, Arabic. In honor of her long career, Italy gave her the Rudolph Valentino Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999.
