Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!!!

With all the events that have gone on this year, especially since September 11th, we want sincerely wish you a happy, safe, and if nothing else, relaxing holiday season. Our apologies first to those that signed up for our new postal newsletter. We had already started to design a printed year-end newsletter to be delivered to your "snail" mailboxes, but with all the problems with postal mail, lack of time, and quite frankly, funding, we decided it can wait a little while longer.

Italian of the Year www.sicilianculture.com/awards
So, now you have the good 'old' electronic version. Now, we have to qualify our "Italian of the Year". Not that Giuliani needs any qualification other than what we have seen, but we had already chosen to name him the SicilianCulture Italian of the Year back in October. When we saw his face on the cover of PRIMO Magazine, we were very happy he got such recognition. As many of you know, we strongly endorse PRIMO Magazine as "required reading" for all Italians. We are also greatly honored that SicilianCulture.com is also mentioned in this month's article "Old World Traditions Alive in Cyberspace". Look for it at your local newsstands, (again, Giuliani is on the cover of the November/December Issue), or better yet, a mere $25 gets you a 1-year subscription which you can order online at: www.flprimo.com/subscrbe2.html (It makes a GREAT economic holiday gift for someone you may have forgotten that continues to be remembered throughout the year.)

Now we see that he was named the #1 Biography of the Year on the A&E Cable Station, and TIME Magazine and other magazines as well. So, at the risk of being thought that we are hopping on the bandwagon, the fact is, that he is truly a remarkable man, and many great institutions recognize that. I hope the redundancy does not take away from the validity of this award. While Giuliani is quick to be humble and dismiss all these awards, stating "it is for all the people of New York", let it be said that without his leadership, it would have been pure chaos. He has proven to be of world leader caliber, especially at a time of the most devastating disaster in US History. Read our full description/citation at: http://www.sicilianculture.com/awards

Don't Forget January Birthdays!! www.sicilianculture.com/store
Don't forget that just because you did plenty of shopping (hopefully) many people have birthdays in January and still deserve a gift. There are plenty of calendars, art prints, photos, posters and books from our online store, which can be delivered direct to the person you are shopping for! Many of the posters and prints can be mounted and again, all at a very economical price! Any profit/commission from the sales of NYC/WTC Poster/Prints sold will be donated back to charities which benefit those of the WTC Terrorist Attacks.

NO matter what your plans are for this last week of 2001, whether its family, friends, out on the town, please remember, not just Americans, but the rest of the world has been through a lot these past few months, on top of all the other pressures/problems we already have, take a little bit of extra time to travel, a little extra understanding with the person that cuts you off on the highway, and if you really need that extra drink, (and I know I will), leave the car at home, and pay $7 or $10 or whatever, and take a cab home, trust me, it will ultimately be the very best investment you will ever make in your life. For those of you who are Dean Martin fans, it is with great fondness that we sadly mark his passing 5 years ago today, but more importantly, he put it perfectly when he said "If you drink, don't drive - - don't even putt!"

Buon Natale & Happy New Year 2002!!!

Sincerely,
