NYC: Photos of Sicily: Aperture's Burden Gallery "Passion, Justice, Freedom"

(From Richard Annotico) Recently, I have had the opportunity to view an interesting photography exhibit by Letizia Battaglia titled Passion, Justice, Freedom: Photographs of Sicily.

As some might already know, Ms. Battaglia is a well-known activist and photographer from Sicily.

She has put together some of her collection of black and white photos for an international tour. This tour has visited Perpignan, France and Huis Marseille, Netherlands among many other places. The tour has now reached the United States.

The first stop was St.Lawrence University in Canton, New York where I had the pleasure of viewing her work. The second stop will be in New York City at the Aperture's Burden Gallery. Ms. Battaglia's work was moving and well done.

I suggest that if anyone is near the Aperture's Gallery to stop in and take a peek.

It will be worth your time!
