Agentine Italians Given Priority for Repatriation

Many of you are very aware that in Argentina there is an overwhelming proportion of it's poulation is of Italian Ancestry. Therefore the "Argentinean Problem" impacts negatively a GREAT many of our "blood cousins".
During this Season, when we have cause to give great thanks for OUR many blessings, might we pause for a moment to hope for a better situation soon in Argentina.
[ It was at one time thought that Buenos Aires, Argentina harbored the largest Italian Community outside of Rome, it does not, but has a significant presence. Actually, it is neither neither New York, nor Buenos Aires. The largest Italian community outside Italy is located in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the wealthiest and biggest city in South America. According to the Italian embassy, more than 3 million Italian immigrants and descendants live in the city.]
Many Italians in Argentina are enduring terrible rioting as a result of the near-collapse of both the Argentine economy and government. Italy-News wishes to express its support of those citizens.
The Italian Senate approved special legislation that makes it easier for Italian citizens and persons of Italian origin living in Argentina to return to Italy in light of the volatile situation in that country.
Italian consulates in Argentina have been instructed to give priority to repatriation requests which cite "reasons of employment" made by all Italians who have begun the procedure for, or already have recognition of, Italian citizenship.
The Berlusconi administration has allocated funds to Argentine-Italians in need of financial assistance.
Farnesina Palace has also sent a task force to help consular official process the overwhelming amount of requests.
