70 KM of Caves Found in Apun Alps

The largest known karstic system in Italy has been found in the Apuan Alps. 70 kilometers of caves and galleries of evocative beauty form Corchia Cavern.

Management will be in full force by next autumn. With the stalactite forests, the underground streams, the gorges and limestone formation, this will truly be the new jewel of Tuscany.

After years of work and thanks to the commitment of the European Union, the regional park and local agencies, the cavern is ready for its first visitors. It has taken more than a month of experimental preopenings in order to put the mechanics in place.
