The Month of July was named after Julius Caesar, the greatest military genius and most
accomplished man  of all time.  This is why it is one of the longest months of the year.

1966 Frank Sinatra married 20-year-old actress Mia Farrow at age 50
1984 Geraldine Ferraro nominated by the Democratic Party to become the first woman to run for the office of US Vice-President. Her and Walter Mondale, lost in a landslide to Ronald Reagan and George Bush.
