The Food: List of Aphrodisiacs

An Aphrodisiac is classified as an edible substance (food or drink) which imparts amorous qualities, that is to say, that eating or drinking these foods stimulates you and gets you in the mood for love. While there is no scientific proof of this, in some cases (like chocolate) it is a fact that the active ingredient contained within it (in this case, sugar, caffiene, etc), will arouse and stimulate you.  Keep in mind that if your mate hates any one of these ingredients, then it will obviously be a complete turnoff all together.  Remember, this is here really just for fun, and a historical account of what people have claimed are aphrodisiacs through the ages.  Remember, the best aphrodisiac in this day and age is to turn off the cell phones and beeper, along with the IMs and your computer, and play some nice soft music, light some candles, and just talk to your mate.

Many of these are hyperlinked, so if they are, simply click on it to get more details.

Aphrodisiac Drinks: Alcohol, as many know takes control of the central nervous system (the brain) and "loosens" up many inhibitions.  Visit any fraternity party or local college bar and you will see what we mean.  However, here are some of the more classy, sophisticated ways of achieving some feelings of arousal.

Other Non-Edible Aphrodisiacs:
Conversation (real conversation and genuine interest in what your mate is saying)
Flowers (Especially fragrant ones like roses)
Kissing (the true, passionate kind, not your rushed foreplay kind of kissing either)
Music (perhaps not top 40 or classic rock, but something more traditional you can both identify with... do I hear 80s one hit wonders?)
Scents (especially perfumes, but do some careful research first and be sure you are not wearing a cologne or perfume that your mate's exlover, mother, father or similar used to wear)
