Food:
Antipasto
Think of antipasto as Italian appetizers or hors
d' ouvres, only simpler. You could probably make an anitpasto from
whatever you have in your refridgerator right now. Most typically,
its a tray of assorted cheeses, olives, pepperoni, salami, mozzarella, tomatoes,
sweet roasted peppers, even sardines and sliced
vegetables. The Mexicans have their tortilla chips & salsa; the
Americans their Shrimp Cocktail, and the Italians have Antipasto!
If you wanted to get fancier, you could have stuffed
mushrooms and cold seafood salad as appetizers, but remember, the basic anitpasto
is just the assorted cheeses, olives and meats as described above, that is
different then than the typical "appetizers".
