Liquers of Italy: Vecchio Amaro del Capo

Vecchio Amaro del Capo literally means "old amareto of the captain" in Italian. Made in Calarbria, it is a light brown bitter liquer cordial with a taste very similar to Strega, and made with herbs.  I personally have never seen it sold in this country.

My friend, an authentic Calabrese with a bottle of Vecchio Amaro Del Capo he brought back from his home town.
